Probably won't buy one, but it looks like it would be a fun bike to have available.

All right, I posted this under another topic, but can someone explain to me the appeal of 29ers? I'm not so sure this would handle too well on a track. It seems just a tad big. (Personally, I'd never ride a 26 incher on a track) But these bikes are all the rage now, especially in the mountain bike world. And I noticed Texas Firemans Cruzers make a 29er now.

I have nothing against these bikes, and really it would be really cool to just ride a giant version of a PK Ripper, but I don't understand their functional appeal, especially as it pertains to BMX. Can anyone explaini?

Well said R, I feel the same way. Ok, yeah, it might be fun to ride but to me its not BMX. I suppose if I were well over 6ft and quite heavy, it might be exciting. I still fit at home on a 20" so I guess I don't get it.

I have a 29er and I like it for cruising around town. I also have plenty of 26" bikes and the 29er does feel smoother and more stable... granted it is not as maneuverable and "quick" as a 24 etc. but it serves a unique function in my stable of bikes. I'm also 6'3" so I appreciate a big bike that makes me feel like a kid...

For BMX racing it would probably be useless... I plan to use it for riding around town. For urban cruising a 26" feels great and the 29er feels even better.

I've had a few friends question the usefulness of a 20"... I guess it's all a matter of what you plan to do with the bike.

Yeah, these could also be fun to rip around on single track, as long as the climbing isn't too extreme. It might handle rough terrain a little better than a rigid-fork 26er. At a certain point, though, these start feeling more like circus bikes to me. But I'm only 6-0, so average-sized bikes feel about right for me.

Stop screwing around, Todd! Just go with the 45" wheels and be done with it.
I'm not a good person to ask. I don't even like 24". I told myself as a kid, if I stay riding, I'm never gonna have a cruiser like all the old guys seem to enjoy. I still don't.
