I have a 81 chrome Diamond Back Senior Pro with the orignal sticker pack, Persons diamond pattern bmx seat,82 Tange TX 1200w forks,NOS 80s Aeromax pedals,no name one-piece cranks, and a few other no name parts. Eventually I would like to build it to show quallity but I have halted the progress because I would like to get my bike set up for one general class in every show. My question is as of right now with the few name brand parts that I do have which class I be in? That away I know which way to go with the parts. I have heard of era correct builds and was wondering what the low-down on that was? Any help is appreciated. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Most shows will allow you to compete in only one category; depending in the Year and Type of your bike it will be placed in a certain category (Re: Pit, Mini, 20", 24", Freestyle, Custom etc, and then 70's or 80's)... Era correct build means that you are limited to use parts that were available on that specific year or prior... Hope this helps.

It should be noted that the question is about 180 days early, as the 2009 event has come and gone...and the rules for the 2010 event (328 days from today) are likely to change a bit.

Best,

M
