Ideally, I would prefer crushed granite or dolemite, but we can't get those here. I would love to have a surface that you could race on even while it's raining.

What was the ratio for that mixture? What did you use to apply and was the soil loose or packed?

I believe it was 35 gallons of water, 1 gallon elmer's glue and about 2 cups of water. We have a shallow well pump that we ran the mixture through.

We only did the first straight, but it was successful. We did it in August and it seemed to hold up through the end of October under Northeast rain. We usually tarp the track though.

We have been using soil tac for 5 year at Rum River BMX and it has performed very well for us. We use 4 barrels per year, please note our corners are tar. Our soil type is sandy so we have a great application rate. We usally put the tac down in early may and with some maint. coats it last until Oct. when we close for winter. Up here in Minnesota we end up peeling it off in the spring as winters are too harsh for it to survive.

Gluing makes the racing safer, most of the riders, and all of the volunteers happier.

I cant see doing it any other way... until there is solid proof of something better.

just my 2 cents

Do you mean 2 cups vinegar? And that amount did your first straight?

Is this for Real??? If so how do you mix / apply it? How does it work compared to Soiltac, is it close enough / cheap enough to use as a legit alternative? Our track cant afford soiltac, at least not this year, should we be busting out the Chemistry set and raiding the local pre school this year or what?

Sorry for the blatant bump but I gotta know if the stuff I ate way too much of as a kid could help get our track back in shape!
