Looks like maybe the big boys are getting back in it......... I heard Huffy's got a new frame/race bike. How about Oakley, tony hawks got a bike, if it catchs on no one will want to be last to the party look out for the box stores to come back, coke, pepsi co. , etc............
If it pops these will be the guys with the cash behind it.

Do you think they are speculating that the Olympics might have a new spark and want to be in early and get out while the getting is good?

I read somewhere about 8-10 months ago that Nike was going to do something big in the BMX world. I just wish I could remember where I read it.

How much does a TV commercial cost during the Olympics? How can a corp gets it sname image and brand on TV with out violating the Olympic rules? Did Nike put its name on snow boards or boots during the last show? Did Oakley have goggles and glasses on every athlete? Did Bell helmets and other companies see troy Lee designs helmets and say "where were we?" I was shocked at the missed opportunity. lack

The Olympics frowns on company logos big time. It's not like the Action sports world where logos are all over the place. Totally different world my friend. Alot of the snowboarders had their logos atped over on their goggles and such. It's a big no no. It's about the country you are representing, not the brand.

By the way, if anybody from Nike is lurking this thread, I'd like to offer my name as an excellent candidate, a proven money-maker and much-loved member of the BMX community, who's available on, dare I add, rather short notice.

Let's see - Trek , Bontrager, Gary Fisher, Kona, Honda (tried). Just a few names that jumped on the BMX surge bandwagon in the late '90's.
Nike? You gotta be kidding. Yeah, they're sponsoring now, skateboarding too. BMX fluctuates a lot, let's see who sticks around. None of the above mentioned mind you.
I'll stay with companies who stuck it out through thick and thin, especially with the same owner from day one....Yes you guessed it, and I will always stand by - S&M Bikes.
