Just posted an update to the History of BMX Timeline. I had not really looked at it since July of 2008 (before the Beijing Olympics). A friend in the industry recommended that I update it, so I sat down and knocked it out.
As it says on the last page, I am not presuming to say that these are the only important dates, to the exclusion of all others. This is an ever-evolving collection, over which I am serving as curator. If you have specific dates and events to add to the timeline, please post them here, and they will be given the utmost consideration.

1933. Arnold, Schwinn & Company introduces the “balloon tire” (“tube-in-tire technology”).
The above should read more like this.
1933. Arnold, Schwinn & Company introduces the “balloon tire” to the United States. After this “tube-in-tire technology” was seen being used on bicycles in Germany by Ignatz Schwinn, while on a vacation in Europe. Schwinn's introduction of "balloon tire" bicycles to the US market sparked what came to be looked upon as the second great bicycle boom in the United States.

Mike I do not consider myself a "major player" in the bmx game. But I am proud to say that I was at the last NBL grands which happended to be my first. and came out National 29. Something I thought would never happen.
