Pics would help.
Based on the prefix ... GA and if it's stamped on the center from side to side of BB
I would say 1986.

Now without seeing the bike if the serial number is stamped from front to back on the BB you are getting into the 1990's.

My '85 GT Interceptor startes out "GK" to my memory.
