Looks to be inspired by track bicycles, which don't look much like the average road bike running around town. Perhaps we will see a divergence of the average BMX race bike and Supercross bikes. Race bikes already look different than jumpers. Redline's Project 79 is inching in that direction. High end, special application, not for the average Joe sort of thing. Personally I'm a fan of classic BMX bicycle looks, much like hipsters enjoy classic road bikes. Which has nothing to do with actual performance. If this thing or some form of it offers a performance advantage maybe we'll see changes. Form following function and all.

What would some potential benefits of triple clamp forks be? I think I understand the benefits in downhill bikes, but this seems entirely different.

I could see a bike weight minimum coming in the future

I was thinking about that too. Could there a strength advantage allowing for a lighter front end? No need for X-ups on a supercross track. I'm guessing he just thought it looked cool. heh

Roadies ditch their deep-section rims on windy days.

And they don't even jump.

Not sure I'm getting your point. Seems to me BMX wheels could easily be switched out if it's windy and with todays carbon, wheels could be produced that hold up to jumping. That being said, it's clearly a concept bike that may never see the light of day and could be totally different if it actually does.

This is a rough crowd!

You expected a different reaction? I thought it would be much more brutal than it's been.

It seems to be wanting to emulate something coined by Orbea about 5 years ago. Carbon Tubes with altered tube-junctions, and sweeping stays. A 'Nerve-Center' is how ORBEA best described the concept, but for a Road bike seeing hours in the saddle. They applied it to Mountain Bikes, but it's not the same.
