I found one of these complete (minus the correct wheels). Thinking of restoring it in the original blue and was wondering about the history of these bikes.

Thanks

Which model is it? If it's the regular Magician (single top-tube with loop over rear brake) it's likely a 1986. If it's a double top-tube, it's likely a 1987, either an EX or Pro.

It has the double top tube so 1987 it would be, will recheck the decals for the ex or pro.

Bravo Pro has 990's. The big upgrade on the Magician Pro vs. the EX was alloy 48's instead of steel. They both came with flex-o-matic brakes courtesy of Lee Chi.

That is the exaxt same bike I have with very minor differences:

1: Peregrine seat clamp chrome with blue decal.

2. No rim set.

3. Mine needs that color blue and decals.

4. Ready for restoration. Gonna make it my rider I think????

What is interesting is the stem, like yours white on top and chromed/polised underneat, why not powder them to match the frames? Thanks for the pic hopefully mine will turn out half as nice as yours.

because these are the original wheels and they were probably trying to keep some chrome in there to go with the spokes and shiny sides ? Just a guess

It also had the Peregrine clamp with the blue decal and chrome levers, crank, and pedals
